Funding Priorities

There are several ways that your gift can help support Luther College:

Annual Campaign

Luther’s Spring Appeal for 2015 is raising money for the new portable bleachers in the old gym (Merlis Belsher Heritage Centre). Alumni and friends of Luther may receive a letter like this in your mail!

The installation of the new bleachers will make the most effective use of this space and will bring more people in to the Merlis Belsher Heritage Centre for a variety of events. These new bleachers cost over $55,000. We are looking for gifts of all sizes to help transform the old gym into a truly multi-purpose facility to be enjoyed by all of the Luther community.

Capital Campaign

A Time to Build is a transformative capital expansion and renewal project at the high school campus. This project is critical to Luther’s long-term viability and vision. New and upgraded facilities will help to strengthen our academic and extracurricular programs and will enable us to continue to provide unforgettable memories and unparalleled learning experiences for future generations of students.

For more information, please visit the A Time to Build Capital Campaign page.

Scholarships & Bursaries

Your scholarship support helps to ensures that that deserving and outstanding young people are able to participate in Luther’s unique educational experience. Some donors choose to make a gift to enhance one of our many existing scholarships. A gift to our Community Bursary helps to ensure that no qualified student will be turned away from Luther financial reasons. Other donors also wish to establish their own scholarship. A minimum of $10,000 is required to endow a new scholarship. For more information, please visit the Awards & Scholarships page.

Designated GIfts

Your gift may be designated to support one of our existing programs such as: athletics, chapel, the music program, or the drama and fine arts program, to name a few. Specific projects funded by designated gifts in the past include: upgrades to campus technology, renovations to the dormitories and improvements to the library.

Area of Greatest Need (Unrestricted Gifts)

Many donors simply give their gift to Luther as an “undesignated” gift.  An unrestricted gift allows the school the greatest flexibility; it is to be used immediately where it is most needed to meet the school’s priorities and to support academic programs, technology, facility enhancements, student activities and much more.
