Upcoming Events
Project of Heart
January 26 to March 23, 2026
Project of Heart offers a meaningful space to learn about the history and ongoing impacts of the residential school system in Canada. This year’s edition focuses on the health care received by children detained at the Qu’Appelle Industrial School, including services provided by school staff, nearby hospitals, and public health initiatives. Participants will explore how Church and State policies shaped these services while suppressing Indigenous knowledge and healing practices.
Though these stories date back generations, their effects continue to be felt in Indigenous communities today. Join us to learn, reflect, and contribute to reconciliation.

“One of my first-year courses was Women’s and Gender Studies taught by Dr. Brenda Anderson. I credit that course and Dr. Anderson for giving me the vocabulary I needed to articulate myself … her continued mentorship made me feel like I had something to say, I had a story, and I should share it.”
