Remote Personal Counselling

Remote Personal Counselling

Mrs. Wilkinson and Mr. Belous are excited to let you know that we will be offering counselling services remotely for the duration of the school closure.

Since there are a number of considerations unique to remote counselling, we will post all related information on the school’s Wellness Day Google Classroom. The code if you need it, is xwgrvb4.

Here are a few key points to note:

  • There will not be “drop-in” counselling hours during this time. Rather, counselling appointments can be arranged with Mr. Belous or Mrs. Wilkinson by email and will occur via videoconference.
  • During remote counselling, all precautions will be taken to maintain privacy and confidentiality, including using secure videoconference technology. Counsellors will not record sessions and will make students aware of any risks to confidentiality.
  • The Wellness Day Google Classroom is the best place to find details on accessing videoconference technology, protocols for remote counselling, and general mental health and wellness information.
  • If a student needs to meet with a counsellor but they are not readily available, please access the materials posted on Google Classroom for coping strategies or professionals to contact in case of emergency.

To make an appointment, or if you have questions or concerns, please email Mr. Belous at bryan.belous@luthercollege.edu or Mrs. Wilkinson at colleen.wilkinson@luthercollege.edu.

Finally, a note about Covid-19 and isolation. If you or a family member or friend are struggling with anxiety related to Covid-19, please consider accessing the resources posted on Google Classroom. Anxiety is a common experience for many of us right now and there are a lot of helpful resources that can assist us in coping with this new experience.
