Withdrawals and Refunds

If a Saskatchewan or Canadian student withdraws before November 1, tuition fees will be refunded on a prorated basis (with a minimum of 10% being held) if the student withdraws after this time all fees will be forfeit.

If a Saskatchewan or Canadian student withdraws from the dorms before November 1, dorm fees will be refunded on a prorated basis (with a minimum of 10% being held) if the student withdraws after this time all fees will be forfeit.

Withdrawal notices for out-of-country students must be received in writing by June 10 for the following school year, (November 18 for second semester withdrawal) in order to be eligible for full refunds. All refunds are subject to a 10% tuition administrative charge. If a withdrawal notice is received after the specified date listed all fees will be forfeit. If the withdrawal is due to not obtaining a visa, we require proof that the visa was denied.

Once a semester has begun there will be no refunds issued for the class fees of EAL, physical education, Communication Media, or IB. If a student receives their Canadian residency papers during the semester, the tuition fees will change for the next semester, it will not be prorated for the semester that they are currently in.

Refunds for bus and cafeteria fees will be available until the end of the first week of classes, after the first week no refunds will be issued under any circumstances.

Dorm room deposits are refunded when a student withdraws or graduates, less any costs incurred in repairing damage to the room or its fixtures, or any dorm-related charges.  The damage deposit is a one-time fee and will be held over the length of the student’s stay at Luther College.

All refunds may take up to 8 weeks to be processed.
