Did You Know?
When the College was first looking to relocate from Melville to Regina, it considered land at College & Winnipeg, College & Broad, and 23rd & Albert, finally settling on 18 acres of land on the west end of property owned by Government House, now called Royal Street.
Luther students, even though from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, have the opportunity to be part of tightly woven community of students, parents, alumni, teachers and staff. Typically 12% of the school’s student body originates from outside of Canada.
The first LIT was held on January 31, 1953. That year it was a one-day tournament involving sixteen teams from Southern Saskatchewan. All preliminary games were played cross court, two games at a time.
Through the A Time To Build capital campaign, we have added 46,897 square feet of space to Luther College High School, including the Semple gymnasium - the largest high school gym in Regina.
Luther College High School is recognized as one of the four best university preparatory schools in western Canada with as many as 96% of Luther graduates pursuing post-secondary educations.

The gym officially opened July 8, 1951. The Sunday afternoon celebration, attended by 1,500 people, featured speeches followed by an evening celebration with another 1,500 people in attendance to hear the Luther Choir and the RCMP Band.
In the late 1920's, during an in-house baseball tournament, Rex Schneider entered a team called "Prof Schneider's Battling Lions." This is the first hint that someday Luther teams would be known as the Lions.
The 67th Luther Invitational Tournament is happening February 7, 8 and 9!

Advanced Ticket Sales
Last year tickets sold out for the final games! Come to our public ticket sale on January 26 from 1 - 3 pm to make sure you get your ticket! Use the west entrance/parking lot and head to the Student Commons area. Tournament passes are $25 and day passes are $10.
Alumni Prize Basket
Look for the alumni draw barrel at the admissions desk and enter your name to win an alumni raffle prize with Luther merch, a tentree shirt, gift cards and more!
LCHS alumni get a free voucher for popcorn. Pick up your voucher at the admissions desk, fill out your name and redeem it at the concessions. Limit of one per alumni.
Alumni Game - Saturday, February 9 at 10 a.m.
The annual alumni basketball game is at 10 am on Saturday, February 9. Warm up is at 9:30. Meet us in the Semple Gym. Bring a gold or black jersey if you have one. We have some you can borrow if you don't have one. REGISTER TODAY!
Free Alumni Brunch - Saturday, February 10 at 11 a.m.
This brunch is open to all alumni who played in the game, as well as any alumni who want to attend. Join us in the cafeteria at 11 a.m. You must register so that we can order enough food. REGISTER TODAY!
