Founders’ Day honours the generosity and spirit of Luther College’s many benefactors, past and present, who have participated in the establishment and growth of the College and the individuals whose contributions allow the College to pursue its mission and fulfill its vision of a quality education in a Christian context.
In 2000, Luther College established Founders’ Day to formally recognize the contributions of its valued donors. It is traditionally held in mid-November around the time of the birthdays of Martin Luther and our first Principal and President, Rex Schneider.
Donors are recognized in the following categories based on the total amount of their cumulative giving when they reach the following levels:
- Blue & White Society - $5 Million+
- Black & Gold Society - $1 Million+
- 1926 Society - $700,000 +
- Martin Luther Society - $300,000+
- 1913 Society - $150,000+
- President's Society - $70,000+
- Heritage Society - $30,000+
- Founders' Society - $10,000+
Luther College's Distinguished Service Award, an award granted to individuals who have shown dedication to and support for Luther College and its mission, is also presented at the Founders' Day events.
