Luther College celebrates opening of new facilities

Luther College High School unveiled their newly-constructed and
refurbished facilities including the Semple Gymnasium, Merlis Belsher Heritage Centre,
Wiens Family Training Center, Student Commons and Fine Arts Wing with a ribbon cutting ceremony.  

Luther College receives $1.75m donation to build new gymnasium

9 October 2013 – Dr Bryan Hillis, president of Regina’s Luther College, today announced that Gavin and Shaun Semple have made a major donation of $1.75 million to build a new, state of the art gymnasium.

“Shaun and I are pleased to provide $1,750,000 in financial support to Luther College through the Brandt “Thanks A Billion Program”. The Semple Family have had a long standing relationship with Luther College beginning in 1959 when I attended the college as a dorm student. Since then eight other members of the Semple family have benefited from the quality education provided by Luther College”, said Gavin Semple.

Luther College announces largest donation in the school’s 100 year history for the renewal and expansion project at the high school campus.

3 October 2013 – Dr Bryan Hillis, president of Regina’s Luther College, today announced a major donation of $2.5 million to help with new construction at the 100-year-old high school.

Prominent Saskatoon business owner, chartered accountant and lawyer, Merlis Belsher, a Luther College High School alumni and former LIT participant, made the donation to refurbish the current gymnasium and otherwise aid in the renewal and construction project. The current gymnasium will be named the Merlis Belsher Heritage Centre.
