Get Ready for University with U Prep!
Starting university is exciting, but it can also feel a little overwhelming. U Prep is a fun, interactive orientation designed specifically for new Luther College students to help you start your first semester feeling confident, prepared, and connected.
U Prep 2026 Includes Two Parts
Find Your Classroom – Campus Tour
During the summer, students will attend a small-group campus tour where they can:
Find their classrooms
Print and review their class schedule
Learn how to use UR Courses and UR Self-Service
Go through an important new-student checklist
These tours are organized by faculty/program area, which means you’ll not only explore where your classes take place, but also start connecting with students who are on a similar academic path.

- July 4 (Saturday) – Science / Pre-Professional programs
- July 8 (Wednesday) – Psychology / Arts
- July 18 (Saturday) – Media, Art and Performance
- July 29 (Wednesday) – Science / Pre-Professional Programs
- August 5 (Wednesday) – Media Art and Performance
- August 8 (Saturday) – Psychology / Arts
- August 12 (Wednesday) – General
U Prep Half-Day Event
August 25, 2026 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
A week before classes begin, students will return for a fun and interactive half-day orientation at Luther College. During this event, students will:
Meet other new Luther students and start building their community
Connect with key Luther staff who will support them throughout their degree
Participate in a library scavenger hunt to learn how to find important campus resources
Experience a mock university lecture with a Luther professor
Join a fun social activity led by the Luther Student Association (LUSA)
