Did You Know?
Every single degree program at Luther College offers an optional experiential learning component; gain real world experience and get paid while you go to school!
Luther College students pay the same tuition and fees as other University of Regina students.
Luther College opened the first residence on campus in 1971, and is still a “home away from home” to students: meals, laundry, and lifelong friendship included.
Small classes = big advantages. As a federated college, Luther College classes are typically smaller. This allows for students to connect with their profs and classmates.
The Luther College Residence hosts multiple social events and programs throughout the year, such as Christmas Dinner, International Night, Mardi Gras, and Karaoke Night.
All programs at Luther College offer study abroad opportunities. As an affiliate of the U of R, we have partnerships with 450 universities across 70 different countries.
Luther College at the University of Regina participates in Admission on the Spot events - campus tours, reduced application fees, and the relief of finding out you're accepted to your program right away!
ALL U of R students including Luther students can take Luther courses.
Luther Pre-Med Student wins UR Circle of Scholars Award
2018 has been a big year for Luther student, Ashlyn Kirk. She graduated high school from Hamiota Collegiate Institute in Hamiota, Manitoba in June and began her post-secondary journey at LCUR as a pre-medicine student. But she didn’t simply graduate; she graduated top of her class with an average of 98.2%. And she didn’t only begin her University career; she began it as one of the few students who received the prestigious UR Circle of Scholars Entrance Scholarship.
Being one of the scholarship recipients is an honour that Ashlyn says words fail to convey, but the acknowledgment it represents is not lost on her: “This award provided great validation to myself and others that hard work and perseverance pay off. It excites me to move ahead in my future education.”
Taking sciences at Luther, she hopes to attend medical school and ultimately help children and their families by working as a pediatrician "... and hopefully be able to make some kind of contribution in the field of medicine.”
At Luther, we believe fully in our students and their ability to go out and change the world and Ashlyn, who has already proven herself to be dedicated to her studies and her passion, is certainly no exception. This is why supporting our students to ensure they end up where they are determined to go is our top priority. Thankfully, this College-wide value is one that Ashlyn has already felt the benefits of.
“I was really impressed when enrolling of the amount of support that comes from being a Luther student and in the pre-professional program. The staff and my advisor really made it a stress-free transition into my university and college career and always provide lots of support in my career path!”
We feel very fortunate to have such incredible students, like Ashlyn. Helping her and her peers become successful at what they want to do in life is the motivating force that brings Luther faculty and staff to work every day.
Congratulations, Ashlyn, and thank you for choosing Luther College to be such a formative part of your journey.
