To apply for an Entrance Scholarship or Bursary, you must have a completed and accepted admissions application to Luther College High School. Students who have not been formally accepted should wait for their acceptance letter before applying for a scholarship or bursary.
Please have all your required documentation ready before you submit your Entrance Scholarship application. Depending on the scholarship, this may include: a letter from a pastor, a character reference, proof of musical or athletic ability or proof of a rural address.
If you are applying for a bursary, you must complete your Apple Financial (third-party) application first. Your bursary application will not be considered until Luther College receives your Apple Financial report.
Your Entrance Scholarship application is confidential and only used to make decisions regarding the awarding of entrance scholarships and bursaries.
Please choose the scholarships that you would like to apply for. You may choose more than one if you believe you meet the criteria for more than one scholarship. Successful applicants will only receive one scholarship or bursary (for example, you cannot receive both the Erna Huget Memorial Scholarship and the Dilawri Award).

Awarded to a new Grade 9 student, with preference given to rural students with a financial need. Please submit proof of your rural address in the Supporting Documents section.
Awarded to a new Grade 9 student who has a keen interest in learning, shows a caring attitude towards others, and has above average scholastic achievement. Please submit a character reference in the Supporting Documents section.
Awarded to a deserving new Grade 9 student.
Awarded to assist a new student with preference given to a student with abilities in music. Please submit proof of musical ability in the Supporting Documents section.
Awarded to a new student who demonstrates qualities of compassion, sensitivity, desire for learning, reverence for life, and faith in God. Please submit a reference letter from your pastor in the Supporting Documents section.
Awarded to a recipient with a keen sense of academic pursuit, demonstrate a need or hardship, financially or otherwise, such as physically, mentally, emotionally, cognitively or spiritually. Preference will be given to a student who exemplifies the characteristics of integrity, justice, humor, kindness and compassion. Please submit a character reference letter in the Supporting Documents section.
The President’s Entrance Scholarship is awarded to an international student entering Luther College High School for the first time. The recipient should be academically-minded and well-rounded. Preference is given to applicants with a background of outstanding academic achievement and who demonstrate distinction in arts, sports, leadership activities or other academic and personal pursuits. The scholarship was established by The Rev. Marc Jerry to assist in recruitment efforts and help attract mission-appropriate students to the high school.
Awarded to recipients who demonstrate academic achievement, sportsmanship and athletic ability, preferably in basketball or girls’ volleyball. Please submit a reference letter from a coach or other proof of athletic ability in the Supporting Documents section.
Reminder: You must complete an application to Apple Financial (an independent third party) to be considered for one of the following bursaries.
Bursaries are awarded to each applicant for four years provided he/she remains in good academic standing.

The Luther College Community Bursary is awarded to deserving students with financial need who demonstrate academic achievement and a keen interest in learning, a positive attitude, proven leadership abilities and a strong desire to succeed. This bursary will cover the cost of full tuition to Luther College High School and is continuing through Grade 12 providing they maintain good academic standing, and continue to meet eligibility requirements.
The Vic & Candice Husak-Grotsky Family Tuition Bursary was established by Luther alum Candice, nee Husak (Class of 1988) and her husband Craig Grotsky in honour of all alumni, teachers, parents and spouses who passed through the halls of Luther College but especially to honour Candice's father Vic Husak and Candice's mother Raylene who believed in the importance of education. This bursary provides financial assistance to a local day student who demonstrates academic achievement or promise and community service with a keen interest in literature and learning who, due to financial constraints, would not otherwise be able to attend Luther College High School. It is awarded once every four years.
The Kramer Family Bursary was established by the Kramer family for Aboriginal students who show academic promise but due to financial constraints and socio-economic factors would not otherwise attend Luther College High School. This bursary covers annual tuition fees, dorm fees and may provide for other additional costs provided the student maintains good academic standing. It is awarded to Aboriginal students who demonstrate academic promise, a positive attitude, a willingness to work hard, and a student desire to succeed as well as financial need.
The Denise (Stratychuk) and Jim Mearns Memorial Bursary is awarded to a new Grade 9 student entering Luther College who has demonstrated financial need. It is a renewable bursary for up to four years. The award was established in 1995 by Janice and Peter Stratychuk in memory of their daughter Denise and her husband Jim. Denise attended Luther College High School for four years, graduating in 1982.
The Ritenburg Family Bursary is awarded to students who have demonstrated financial need and show a particular interest in the performing arts (music, dance or drama). It is a renewable bursary of $1,000 per year for up to four years (Grades 9 to 12). This bursary was established by Jim and Jacquie Ritenburg to recognize the positive influence the school had on their family. Jim graduated from Luther in 1977, and daughter Laura graduated in 2004.
The Single Parent Tuition Bursary is awarded to a student from a single-parent family who has demonstrated financial need and who otherwise could not afford to attend Luther College High School. It is a renewable bursary of $3,000 per year for up to four years (Grade 9 to 12). The bursary has been made available through a generous donation from an anonymous donor.

Allan Christiansen Memorial Scholarship, William Frederick Krell Scholarship and Saskatchewan Dorm Student Scholarship – provide a reference letter from someone who can speak to your character (cannot be a family member)
Fredrick & Magdalena Krell Scholarship – provide a reference letter from your pastor
Dr. Leonard O. Bradley Scholarship or the Luther College Saskatchewan Dorm Student Scholarship - provide proof of rural address.
