Course Scheduling 2018-19

Did You Know?

  • Luther students, even though from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, have the opportunity to be part of tightly woven community of students, parents, alumni, teachers and staff. Typically 12% of the school’s student body originates from outside of Canada.

  • The gym officially opened July 8, 1951. The Sunday afternoon celebration, attended by 1,500 people, featured speeches followed by an evening celebration with another 1,500 people in attendance to hear the Luther Choir and the RCMP Band.

  • Luther graduates have gone on to universities such as Harvard, Oxford, Pennsylvania State, McGill, Queen’s and other renowned educational institutions throughout Canada, North America and the world.

  • When the College was first looking to relocate from Melville to Regina, it considered land at College & Winnipeg, College & Broad, and 23rd & Albert, finally settling on 18 acres of land on the west end of property owned by Government House, now called Royal Street.

  • The first annual Senior Girls Volleyball Tournament was held in 1998 and is still going strong today!

  • Did you know there is a 3rd floor to the boy's dorm? It was traditionally assigned to upper level students who were more mature & responsible. Students who lived up there in the 1940’s confessed, in hushed tones, to having a radio when those devices were against school policy.

  • Do you know someone in Kindergarten to Grade 8 that would like to be part of the Luther Family? Encourage them to join the Future Luther Student program!

  • Students admitted to Luther College are not required to be Lutheran or Christian. By welcoming students of all faiths and religious backgrounds, Luther College enjoys a richly diverse student body.

Course Scheduling

As of Friday, July 27 student's’ schedules are now available on OSA for the 2018-19 school year.  Locker assignments and possible new Tag House assignments are also available.

If your student requires a change in his or her schedule, please encourage him or her to contact Ms. Wilkinson in one of the following two ways:

1. Send an email to vpstudentacademics@luthercollege.edu with a reason for the change in his or her course request.

2. Meet with Ms. Wilkinson in person on Wednesday, August 22 or Thursday August, 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  She will meet with students on a first come, first serve basis.

On Friday, August 24 we will finalize the schedule. We will not be able to accept any requests for changes after Thursday, August 23. Because Ms. Wilkinson will be out of the office from August 6 to 17, have your student email her as soon as possible.

A great deal of work has gone into creating a master schedule that has balanced course loads and reasonable class sizes, and best meets the course requests that students made last spring. We typically do not change schedules for teacher preference, same class as a friend or work schedules.

Luther College reserves the right to add, delete or alter class selections if necessary.

Classes begin on Tuesday, September 4 at 8:30 a.m. On that day, we will follow the regular order of classes but with an extended Chapel time.
