What is a federated college?
The University of Regina has three federated colleges: Luther College, Campion College, and First Nations University of Canada. Each has its own administration, but academically is a part of the University of Regina. Luther professors teach U of R courses. Luther students are also U of R students. All courses taught at the federated colleges are open to all University students.
How large is Luther?
Luther has about 600 students, 19 full-time faculty members, several part-time faculty members, and many staff members.
What does being a Luther student mean?
You recieve your academic advising and support (e.g. deferrals of final exams) at the Luther Academic Office. You pay your tuition and fees at Luther College. You are also a U of R student with all rights and privileges (sports facilities, library, U of R courses, etc). You are in a degree, certificate, diploma, or pre-professional program in Arts, Fine Arts, or Science. You will recieve your degree, certificate and/or diploma from the U of R, and you will be a graduate of both Luther and the U of R.
Do I have to be Lutheran or Christian to be a Luther student?
No—Luther’s students, staff, and faculty come from all faith backgrounds or none at all. We are united in our commitment to an excellent education and our recognition that a university experience is best when there is attention to all aspects of human existence.
Does Luther have financial aid for students?
Yes, Luther offers a number of scholarships and bursaries for entering and returning students that are for Luther students. Luther students are also eligible for University of Regina awards.
Where is Luther?
The Luther building is towards the north-east end of campus. It has classrooms, faculty offices, student services offices, an academic office, a library, a residence, a cafeteria, and a chapel.
Do I have to live in residence at Luther, or eat there?
Luther has a residence with about 200 single rooms. Any post-secondary student in Regina can live there, and Luther students are particularly welcome but not required to live in residence. Anyone can eat in our cafeteria, where all-you-care-to-eat meals are served three times a day.
