First-year programs
Luther offers two programs which are open to any first-year U of R student. We arrange small groups of students into lively courses organised around a theme. Learning may also include hands-on experience and interaction within the larger community.
Interdisciplinary Studies Program – Global Citizenship
- The Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) Program allows you to explore the issues that affect you and your world.
- For Arts and Fine Arts students, and for those considering social work, human justice, international studies, justice studies, education, journalism, and some professional programs.
- We package your required English, biology and chemistry courses (and labs) together for easy registration. Your English courses focus on scientific themes in literature.
- For biology and biochemistry majors and pre-professional science majors (pre-medicine, pre-dentistry, pre-optometry).
