The context of a Christian education

Luther College is a college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Canada (ELCIC), and since 1971 it has been a federated college of the University of Regina. What does that mean?

First, let me tell you what it doesn’t mean. It doesn’t mean you have to be Lutheran or a Christian of any sort to attend Luther College or participate in any our events (including chaplaincy programs). It doesn’t mean you have to attend chapel or listen to anyone tell you what to believe.

So here’s what it does mean. It means that we welcome students of all faiths and beliefs because we think that is part of the openness of the Christian faith. It means that we believe an excellent education allows you to grow in every dimension of life, including spiritually, and we provide opportunities for you to do that.

Through Luther’s chaplaincy, you can explore worship, education, justice and service. You’ll meet other students who are seeking to develop spiritually. Whether it's an informal time of worship, a late-night Bible study, conversation after a movie, or an opportunity to support a justice project, there are lots of ways to learn and laugh together! Check the website for up-to-date info on what’s happening.

If you need a quiet place to think or pray or just be, consider the Luther Chapel (2nd floor). It’s open every day, all day. Drop in for a moment of quiet.

You can also drop by Pastor Cheryl’s office (LC 107) cheryl.toth@luthercollege.edu. She will listen to your concerns with an open mind and an open heart.
