Luther College high school follows the curriculum established by the Government of Saskatchewan.

All of Luther’s courses are in the academic stream, leading to a strong preparation for university studies.

In addition to the required courses, Luther students must take a course in Christian Ethics for each year of his or her enrolment.

Graduates of Luther are accepted at universities across North America. International students who complete grades 10, 11, and 12 at Luther are not required to write an English entrance examination to enter university.

Luther College works within the semester system. Students are allowed to take a maximum of six courses per semester. At every grade level, there are certain courses students must pass in order to graduate. These courses are known as compulsory courses. Other courses, however, are optional. Students may choose which ones they wish to take in order to fulfill the requirements for their grade 12 diploma.

Compulsory and optional classes for each grade are outlined in the following pages.

In order to be eligible for a Luther College diploma, students must receive prior permission from administration to take any credit classes outside Luther.  These grades will not be used in any average calculations, which may mean the student will be excluded from scholarship and honour pin consideration.

If you have questions about our curriculum requirements the school’s academic vice-principal would be happy to speak with you.
