A unique contribution to university life, the 1970s

Over the years, Luther College's university campus has offered a distinct experience to students. For example, during the 1970s, professor Paul Antrobus invented "Muckby," a game played on a mud field with two garbage cans, a football, and few very few meaningful rules. The game, quite popular with everyone except the custodians, was an intramural sport for several seasons. In addition, Luther's chaplain has provided for the spiritual lives of students, from the Upper Room in the early years to the present Peer Chaplaincy program. Finally, the Luther University Student Association has a longstanding tradition of holding social events such as the Hallowe’en Dance and the Christmas formal.
